GENEROSITY, BY HAND
What is Karam by KUVRD?
"Karam" means kindness, generosity, and graciousness in Arabic. Karam by KUVRD is our giving program, the fund and the promise behind it. A set share of every KUVRD sale goes into the Karam fund. No roundups, no add-ons at checkout. You buy, we give.
The KUVRD Collective is our own workshop and community space in Jabal Al Hussein, Amman, separate from the family's Golden Textile Factory in Sahab. It is where women, locals and refugees alike, hand-tie the hadab (the keffiyeh's fringe), and where our Palestinian heritage and skills workshops take place. Read the factory story.

KEEPING THE CRAFT ALIVE
Palestinian Heritage Workshops
At the KUVRD Collective, heritage skills are taught and passed on, from tying the hadab that finishes every keffiyeh to tatreez embroidery and the wider craft traditions our community carries. The workshops give women a place to learn, practice, and keep Palestinian craft alive in their own hands.

TRAINING FOR INDEPENDENCE
Skills Training Programs
Alongside production work, the KUVRD Collective runs skills-training programs that take women from a first workshop to paid craft work, covering hand-finishing, craft quality, and the confidence to earn independently. To date: 5 training workshops delivered · 98+ women trained · 45 transitioned into employment. The program is supported by Alfanar venture philanthropy, and new artisans continue to join.

WORK WITH DIGNITY
Employment at the Collective
The KUVRD Collective employs women artisans, supported by a wider production team. 54 women have been employed across our workshops since we started. They hand-tie the hadab, sew, iron, finish and package every KUVRD keffiyeh in Jabal Al Hussein, Amman, and hand-stitch all of our tatreez. We are hiring. For locals and refugees alike, it is stable, dignified, paid work. Your purchase keeps it going.

GIVING BEYOND THE WORKSHOP
Relief and Community Giving
Karam reaches beyond the KUVRD Collective. Between 2020 and 2023 KUVRD donated 100,751 meals through our charity partners. In 2023 that meant emergency relief in Gaza, 250 blankets in Jabalia and cooked meals at Al-Aqsa Hospital and in Deir Al-Balah, alongside the year-long sponsorship of 18 orphans with Penny Appeal Canada and Human Concern International. In 2025 we sponsored 4 more children with Human Appeal, 3 in Palestine and 1 in Yemen.
